Illinois' Board Renews Gambling Licences and Renovates Marketing Rules

Updated Marketing Laws

Newly adopted rules will ensure uniform advertising norms across all Illinois' gaming markets under the IGB's jurisdiction. These reformed regulations also present extra safeguards and, for the first time, extend existing promotion laws to casino and video gambling.

The Renewal of Licences

The IGB also extended Rivers Casino’s four-year licence until August 2028 and Hawthorne Race Course’s sports betting permit until September of the same year.

Rivers Casino is Illinois's top-performing facility. In the first eight months of this year, it reported $346.2 million in winnings and contributed $103.9 million in state and local taxes. As for Hawthorne Race Course, it was among the first establishments to offer retail sports wagering in the Land of Lincoln.

The board also approved a four-year Management Services Provider permit for Rush Street Interactive.
