LVCVA Presented Data on Gambling in Las Vegas

In 2022, Las Vegas welcomed about 39 million guests. LVCVA explored their:

• behaviours;
• visitation reasons;
• consumption tendencies, etc.

All data were collected in the Visitor Profile Study.

Detailed Statistics

According to information provided by the organisation, the median age of guests in 2022 was almost 41, diminished from 43 in 2021’s study.

Here are some more stats:

• Nearly 50% of the tourists were Millennials.
• 27% — representatives of the X generation.
• 12% — Baby Boomers (less than the 2021 figure).
• 13% — Gen Z.

The number of Asian American, Latino, and Asian guests increased. Almost 62% of the visitors were white.

The other ethnic groups constituted 38%:

• 16% — Hispanic;
• 12% — Afro-American;
• 7% — Asian;
• 3% — others.

The variety of younger visitors increased while the number of elderly participants declined. 72% of Baby Boomers were white.

Almost 1/3 of tourists to Las Vegas in 2022 did not have a partner. This was a bigger figure than in the pre-pandemic period. The number of employed guests increased.

The proportion of Americans who visited Sin City hardly changed. The ratio of international guests was about 9% (a 3% increase over 2021). Their numbers remain under the pre-COVID-19 statistics.

Recovery after the Pandemic

The recuperation of the city after the lockdown period is in full swing. 77% of guests declared they were pleased with their holidays. It was a 7% increase compared to 2021. Guests spent more money at casinos and were likelier to attend sports events.

In addition:

• the Sin City satisfied the expectations of 53% of visitors;
• Las Vegas venues overstepped the expectations of 41% of tourists;
• 87% of visitors said they would like to return to the destination for a holiday.

Wagering Details

Around 3/4 of the visitors gambled in the city. The average time spent on games of chance was 2.6 hours (3 in 2021). Punters attended a median of 4.3 casinos during the holiday. These figures decreased from 2021 when they were 5.7.

A slight decline was also evident in the length of visiting. On average, tourists stayed in Las Vegas for 4.4 days and 3.4 nights. However, the number of new guests to the city increased: 24% of respondents said they were coming to Las Vegas for the first time. In 2021, such a category made up only 20%.
